Let’s get spooky! Looking for ideas this Halloween? Why not try making your own slime? A great activity for kids and adults alike. Follow the simple steps below and you will have slime in no time.

white slime in a small glass jar

Ingredients:

225g PVA Glue

1 Teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda

1 Tablespoon of Contact Lens Solution

Food colouring & glitter (optional)

Method:

Step 1

Add the glue to a bowl.

If you wish to add some colouring or glitter, add it to the glue first and make sure it is evenly mixed.

Step 2

Add the bicarbonate of soda and stir through until the consistency is nice and smooth.

Step 3

Slowly pour in the contact lens solution and stir gently whilst you add it. The mixture should start to firm up and become stringy in texture. You can try adding the two tablespoons first and then add the extra tablespoon if you feel it is needed.

Step 4

Keep mixing it all together until it starts to form that classic slime consistency.

Step 5

Give your slime a good knead. Time for some elbow grease! Grab all the mixture and work it through your hands until it starts to smoothen out. If it feels too sticky or sloppy, you can always add a little more contact lens solution.

Enjoy your slime!

Make sure to keep it stored in an airtight container so you can play with it for longer.

We have put ours in small glass jars to help it last longer. Look at these adorable spooky characters:

Slime Ideas:

If you switch out the PVA glue for glitter glue, you can create a transparent effect slime.

You can hide small toys and figures inside the slime and create your own surprise toys (please be mindful of any choking hazards for younger children).

Add some confetti, beads or mini pom-poms for extra texture.

Great for Halloween party games – try placing plastic spiders inside the goo for a fun sensory game.
