Johnsons Carrot Autumn King 2 Seeds

A popular, high yielding maincrop variety with large, long, tapering roots which has stood the test of time and is an allotment favourite for its reliability, excellent flavour and rich colour. It stores well for later winter use. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 week and when harvesting, select alternate young carrots from the row, allowing the remainder to develop fully. Keep well watered to prevent the roots splitting.

Root vegetables boast a host of colours and flavours and include carrots, radish, horseradish, sweet potato, turnip and beetroot. Their low rate of metabolism allows for a relatively long postharvest life. Thanks to their high water content, they are key ingredients for a low fat diet. This wholefood is well suited for all cooking options: grilling, mashing, roasting, frying and even in soups. Don't skimp on sunshine when growing them!
