Marginal plants are perfect for the borders of your pond where the water is most shallow, or perhaps on a planting shelf. They are able to tolerate waterlogged soil but should be planted no deeper than four inches below the water level. These hardy aquatic plants can be grown outside of the water also, as long as their soil is kept consistently moist.
Benefits: As Caltha palustris, but with beautiful double yellow flowers in early spring. It was first discovered and cultivated in Austria in the late 16th century.
