Your festival essentials checklist

Going to a festival is a modern rite of passage. Whatever your age you’re never too old, or young, to head off to a festival to enjoy a weekend of great music with your friends. Whether it is your first ever festival or you’re a seasoned festival pro, this festival essentials checklist will ensure you have everything you need for the weekend.

The basics

While festivals are a chance to let your hair down and have fun, remembering the boring basics will ensure your weekend runs smoothly. Make sure you pack your tickets, ID and lots of cash that is safely hidden and which will last the entire weekend. As well as this, look ahead at the weather forecast and if it is hot and sunny pack your sunscreen and hat; if a traditional festival downpour is predicted remember your wellies!

Camping

The best way to get into the festival atmosphere is by camping at the onsite campsite. Sometimes the camping area can be miles from the carpark so remember to pack light but make sure you have what you need. A good, large tent is a festival essential and at QD we stock a wide range of tents to suit all budgets, including our 4 Man Camping Festival Tunnel Tent which costs less than £100 and is perfect for festivals.

Sleep might not be a priority during the festival but having somewhere comfortable to crash will be a relief after a long day and night of dancing and drinking. Our Double Envelop Sleeping Bag is easy to carry and will keep you warm during the night, while our Double Roll Sleeping Camping Mat is light enough to carry from the car and will help to make your night’s sleep more comfortable.

Another way to make your festival weekend more enjoyable is packing a few camping extras. A camping chair will provide you with somewhere to sit while you are relaxing at your tent and our Luxury Padded Camping Chair will even provide you with somewhere to hold your beer.

Festival extras

Another festival essential is a torch, especially when you are trying to find your tent in the dark. We sell packs of torches for under £5 so you won’t have to worry about losing or breaking it during the weekend.

A final camping essential is lots of toilet rolls – we suggest you stock up before you go! Packing lots of toilet rolls and wet wipes might not make the festival toilets a pleasant place to go but it will help to make them a little bit better.
