The QD Stores Group Appoints New Distribution Centre Manager ![]() Pictured is Lee Thursting, QD’s new Distribution Centre Manager. Mr Thursting will be based at the retailer’s Snetterton Distribution Centre in Norfolk. The Norwich-based QD Stores Group has appointed a new manager for its Distribution Centre in Snetterton. Lee Thursting was formerly the Regional Distribution Manager for a major electrical wholesaler, a position he held for five years. His QD remit will be to oversee the retailer’s extensive warehouse operations at its Norfolk circuit base. Mr Thursting takes over the role from QD’s current Distribution Manager who retires at the end of January. The appointment comes in the midst of rapid nationwide expansion for the company. QD recently announced a new partnership with Foulger Transport Ltd, also based in Snetterton, to facilitate its logistical and distribution operations. Under the Portal Norwich initiative Foulger Transport is able to achieve economies of scale through freight consolidation resulting in considerable environmental benefits for the city. Mr Thursting, pictured below, will be relocating to Norfolk from North London and is eager to take advantage of a more rural base. “I’m very much looking forward to taking on this key role within QD’s fast growing retail operation and tackling the inherent logistical challenges such major and sustained expansion entails. From a personal point of view, moving out of London will provide a great opportunity to explore this area’s beautiful coast and countryside.” Currently, ten vehicles from Foulger Transport’s fleet serve QD, operating from the Snetterton Distribution hub, and transporting goods to the Group’s growing network of high street stores, out of town outlets and Cherry Lane garden centres across the UK.
