New Bishop's Stortford Store Opens for Business

Town Mayor, Councillor Colin Woodward officially opens Bishop’s Stortford’s new QD store as QD’s Group Managing Director, Justin Farrington Smith, prepares to greet hundreds of eager customers

Crowds of shoppers turned out in force on Friday, 20th November, eager to be amongst the first customers through the doors of QD’s brand new Bishop’s Stortford store. The high street store was officially opened by town mayor, Councillor Colin Woodward, pictured below with QD Group Managing Director, Justin Farrington Smith.

Marketing Operations Manager, Alan Hatcher, was delighted by the enthusiastic reception from customers who had queued in anticipation. “Each time we announce the opening of a store in a new location, the positive reaction from local people confirms the universal appeal of the unique quality and exceptional value customers expect from shopping at QD. Everybody wants to see a thriving town centre and QD’s bright and spacious new store will draw more custom into the town, particularly in the run up to Christmas.”

The store has a highly motivated new team headed by manager, Peter Bell. “Everyone here has worked tremendously hard work throughout weeks of training in preparation for what’s proved to be a highly successful opening today,” Peter explained as staff greeted their first customers.

The Christmas spirit was very much in evidence with customers impressed by the outstanding value and wide choice of festive goods in-store, including wrapping paper, cards, decorations and gifts for family and friends.
