 QD’s New Bishop’s Stortford Store  QD Stores’ newest high street store in Bishop’s Stortford opens its doors on Friday, 20th November. Town mayor, Councilor Colin Woodward, has been invited to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the grand opening which is due to take place at 9 am. Bishop’s Stortford is the latest in a quick succession of new QD stores to open on high streets across the country. The most recent, located in Lowestoft town centre, attracted close to 1,500 job applicants for the store’s twenty five retail vacancies and drew hundreds of shoppers to its opening on 5th November. Since April this year, QD has introduced its highly successful mix of quality brands at exceptionally low prices to towns serving an area from Boston in Lincolnshire, to Kettering in Northamptonshire. The retailer already has an extensive network of stores, and a chain of garden centres under the Cherry Lane brand, throughout the East in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. QD’s Marketing Operations Manager, Alan Hatcher, confirmed the positive feedback received following the announcement that Bishop’s Stortford was next in line to get a QD store. “We’re delighted to be creating a brand new shopping destination in the town and are looking forward to welcoming customers from a very wide area. QD is all about providing the best value and the biggest choice; our ranges are current, high quality and extremely sought after so the new store is certain to create a buzz all year round, and particularly in the weeks leading up to Christmas.” Waiting to greet customers will be QD’s new team led by manager, Peter Bell, who praised his staff for the tremendously hard work they have put in over the past few weeks to prepare the shop for trading. “It’s very rewarding to see the culmination of all the planning and staff training coming to fruition,” he said. “People shopping in Bishop’s Stortford will find so much here at QD under one roof. We have introduced a large number of exciting new ranges and are extremely well-stocked with Christmas cards, decorations and gifts for those wishing to shop early and get the best bargains.”
