QD’s New Lowestoft Store Opens for Business ![]() Waveney MP Bob Blizzard, pictured on the right with QD’s Group Managing Director, Justin Farrington Smith, performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony as eager shoppers queued to make their first purchases at QD’s newest store. Crowds of shoppers turned out in force on Thursday, 5th November, eager to be amongst the first customers through the doors of QD’s brand new Lowestoft store. The high street store was officially opened by local MP, Bob Blizzard who is a member of the Brain Tumour All Party Parliamentary Group, a cause QD actively supports. Marketing Operations Manager, Alan Hatcher, commented on the positive reaction from the public since QD’s initial announcement of a second Lowestoft store, particularly given to its prime high street location. “We know from the popularity of our existing shop that there is huge demand for the unique quality and value our customers expect from shopping at QD. Our new store, which is considerably larger, gives people even greater choice and added convenience. Everybody wants to see a thriving town centre and QD’s bright and spacious new store will draw more custom into the town, particularly in the run up to Christmas.” The store has an enthusiastic new team (pictured) headed by manager, Harry Ketchell. “Everyone here has shown tremendous dedication and it’s a great achievement to have been selected from close to 1,500 job applicants. I’m really impressed by their hard work throughout the weeks of training and in preparation for what’s proved to be a highly successful opening today,” Harry said as staff greeted their first customers. The Christmas spirit was very much in evidence with customers quick to purchase the wide selection of exceptional value for money Christmas items in-store, including wrapping paper, cards, decorations and gifts for family and friends.
